Unit 8. Trying it again

For me, I find the Subtle Mind and the Loving Kindness to be the most beneficial practices.  The Subtle Mind is great opener to these practices I think and are very calming.  After revisiting Loving Kindness exercises and trying new ones, I think these are great for getting in touch with your emotions, letting things out, and staying balanced.  I cried on several attempts at this, but I think I needed to let my emotions out instead of keeping them bottled up.  It is a great practice for any person of any age.

  1. I am a pro at bottling things up.Eh, maybe I should be meditating on that statement! These practices also have been a challenge at times for myself. I have had to attempt some on several occasions just to be able to wrangle my emotions and have a productive practice session. I think letting the emotions out and allowing them to wash over myself and not carry the same damaging weight is an integral step to truly healing and having success in this work and in life overall.

  2. I too bottle up a lot of garbage. I have noticed that the exercises help me to get rid of the sad, unhealthy thoughts, emotions and energy and put in their place more positive ones. I know that I have guilt in a lot of areas in my life. Whether it is valid or not is a different story. Never the less, I try to use these exercises to eliminate that and replace it. I found that doing this makes me more positive and optimistic.
